AWANA has been held on Zoom the past few weeks. Families with children in AWANA classes should be getting e-mails with the zoom link so their children can participate.
Another resource that families may find helpful at this time- THIS SHEET produced by Child Evangelism Fellowship.
We love our AWANA families and are thankful you all are walking this change of plans with us and extending grace through this time!
Hello, Awana kids and parents,
I am praying for all of you. Last week was difficult as our schools closed and things changed a lot for most of us. Remember that God never changes, He is always faithful, and He is always with you.
I am excited about connecting with many of you this Wednesday evening. We’ve decided to have on-line Awana activities scheduled for Wednesdays so that the kids can have a somewhat normal schedule. We plan to do through the end of April.
Here are directions for each Awana level.
Puggles- there are songs and the entire teaching guide online https://www.awana.org/leadershipdevelopment/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2018/09/PugglesAtHome_activityBook_11.pdf
This is the guide that our teachers used last year, so I would recommend starting on Unit Three, Lesson One, p. 42. There are a lot of fun and creative ideas for teaching your toddlers.
Cubbies- our teachers have already turned the book signing over to the parents, so we will continue with that pattern. I will post some song videos on the church website. We have been singing “This Little Light of Mine” and “The B-I-B-L-E” and other great songs. Mrs. Hannah will be posting a video of the Bible story teaching each week.
There are four people available to listen to your verses:
Ann Elyse Foltz
Step 1- child memorizes verse
Step 2- child’s parent takes a photo of the verse and texts it to one of the four people listed above
Step 3- That person texts back to the child and set up a time to listen to the verse. Child may receive two “helps” for the verse.
Step 4- The contact person will record the child’s name, verse reference, book name and page number. We don’t know when we will have an award ceremony, but you can keep earning your wings and jewels! We will get them to you sometime soon.
We suggest that you work your way through the whole book and then go back through for extra credit verses.
Also for Sparkies- I will be setting up a Zoom meeting for you to video conference with me (or conference phone call if you don’t have regular internet access) at 6:00 on Wednesday evening for our large group Bible study lesson. You will get an e-mail with that specific information.
T & T kids-
Jewel will be in contact with all of you by e-mail. You may say your verses to her or to Margie Harryman. Margie will give the info to Jewel so that you can stay on track for your awards.
Jewel will make a video of your large group Bible teaching, and she will give you information for working on your small group book with your parents.
My e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org Please contact me with any questions or concerns. We love you and your kids and we hope to see you again soon! -Ann Elyse Foltz, Awana director
We are excited to offer Awana Clubs for children age 2 through 5th grade! Your child will sing, play games, make friends, and most importantly, learn God’s Word. Awana meets Wednesday nights from 6:00 – 7:35 p.m during the school year.
